Photo News: Three Grottoes Found in Datong Taiyuan, March 30, 2001(Xinhua) -- The picture shows the largest Buddha, about 3 meters high, in one of the grottoes found at Xiaoshizi village in Datong, Shanxi Province. Three grottoes and four Buddhas are found in the village recently. The archaeological specialists said that the grottoes were built during the Northern Wei Dynasty(386-534), and they were built more than 20 years earlier than the famous Yungang Grottoes in Datong.
